The Society for Dance Documentation and History (SDDH), the largest dance studies society in Korea, was established on April 20, 2014, through the merger of the Korea Society for Dance Documentation and the Society for the History of Korean Dance with a view to finding diverse and creative ways towards dance studies. This society aims at discovering and introducing new discourses and meaningful issues in dance studies in both domestic and international settings as well as providing a platform that enhances diversity and creativity of dance research by encouraging exchange of information among dance researchers and strengthening their academic competencies. It seeks to contribute particularly to the establishment and development of Asian dance studies by introducing trends in Asian dance research and communicating with international dance culture.
