Abstract
An Exploration of the Artistic Sociological Aspects of Choi Seung-hee's Dance Philosophy ×

This study aims to identify the artistic sociological aspects of Choi Seung-hee’s dance philosophy by comparing and analyzing it with Arnold Hauser’s theory of the sociology of art. As a research method, I analyze Choi Seung-hee’s magazine article, focusing on “The Korean People and Dance”, and examine conceptual similarities with Hauser’s theory. The findings reveal strong correlations between the two theories, particularly in the historical and social natures of art, the concept of alienation, the dual structure of popular and fine arts, and the critique of formalism. Considering the socio-cultural context of the 1930s, this study suggests that Hauser’s theory may have influenced Choi Seung-hee’s dance philosophy. This research presents an integrated approach combining practice and theory and emphasizes the need for further in-depth studies on the sociological aspects of Choi Seung-hee’s dance philosophy.

Abstract
A Study on Maru in Korean Traditional Dance + ×

Maru refers to a basic paragraph in Korean traditional dance, which can be long or short, depending on the performance conditions or the environment. This research aims to determine if there is a paragraph corresponding to Maru in court dance based on the previous study of Han Yeongsuk's Buddhist dance and Mokjung Dance of Bongsan Mask Dance. To this end, Cheoyongmu and Chunaengjeon, representative dances of Hyangakjeongjae, are studied in this paper. Furthermore, the paragraph that was classified by the Jipbagaksa hitting "Bak" was collectively referred to as "Bak paragraph" and the previous methodology on analyzing Maru was applied. As a result of this study, the following results have been obtained. First, the elements that make up "Bak paragraph" of court dance and Maru of traditional dance are lexical chumsawi. Both show similarities in meaning, type, and composition. The court martial arts series, however, shows independence of form and meaning through a simpler and more stable pattern. Furthermore, "Bak paragraph" and the Maru of traditional dance convey a certain message despite slight differences in their compositions. In addition, Maru refers to the phrase of court music as well as the instrumental music of Pungryubang, a chorus or refrain of a folk song. Therefore, "Bak paragraph" and Maru reflect the characteristics of court dance. Also, "Back paragraph" that contains specificity can be considered to represent Maru in a comprehensive sense.

Abstract
An Investigation of the Relationship Among Body Composition, Bone Mineral Density, Career, and Eating Attitude in Korean Traditional Dance-major Female College Students ×

The purpose of the current study was to investigate the relationship among body composition, bone mineral density(BMD), career and eating attitude in Korean traditional dancers. Seventy three dance major female college students were recruited in the current study. The body composition variables such as body mass index, percent body fat, total body water, fat free mass and basal metabolism rate were assessed. Data were collected from Anorexia Bulimia Inventory(ABI) questionnaire and BMD was measured using Quantitative ultrasound. T-score was used as an index of BMD. Analysis of confirmatory factor, multiple correlation, multiple regression, and Dubin Watson test were applied for the statistical analysis using SPSS 23.0 windows. There was statistically significant correlation between dietary control and BMD of eating attitude negatively and depressed mood about Career positively(p<0.05). In the result of regression analysis, dietary control and depressed mood were the coefficient determination in BMD and Career. In conclusion, the current study suggested that the perception of healthy body weight was required for dance major female college students.
