The interface of technology tends to limit human movement as the body adapts particular movement patterns to interact with a machine. The multi-touch gesture interface employed by a smartphone also demands a user's certain movement patterns in order to deliver his or her tactile command to the machine more effectively and efficiently. This study aims to observe and analyze the movement of smartphone users and to identify its characteristics associated with the use of such a device. To demonstrate this, 30 second-long movement samples were collected from three different smartphone users and fully investigated at a micro and macro level based on Laban Movement Analysis and Bartenieff Fundamentals (LMA/BF). The findings of this study suggest that smartphone users tend to stay in the same Shape Form with the same size of Kinesphere for a period of time and use distal parts of the body with relatively small movements. The actions frequently performed are touching and sliding, which mostly show one-dimensional directionality; and stillness. In sum, the Inner/Outer movement theme is predominant in the context of using a smartphone as users exist in the inner world or make a bridge to the environment by attending to the device or to themselves according to different inner needs to manipulate the device or to take information from it.

This study examines the relationships between Rudolf von Laban and Nazi of German from 1933 to 1937. This study began to answer the question that ‘Did Laban have any relationship with Nazi?’. The result is as follows. Laban joined the Nazi and cooperated, propaganda in 1930 and rewarded with social status, economical support, and got a chance to performance, festivals, lectures organized by Nazi. The suggestions based on the results of this study are as follows. First, It is need to a new 'historical understandings'about Laban's relationship with Nazi and processing of refuge is needed. He joined the Nazi,assisted in their propaganda activities, and received salary from German Empire Culture Center. Also, he remained a propaganda official in late 1937. Second, There was two perspectives about the characteristic of relationship between Laban and Nazi: voluntary and coercive. Laban showed a little ambiguous attitude to Nazi in regards to his arts and propaganda's loyalty. Third, we need various perspectives about the relationships of Laban and Nazi and further study of effect of Laban's art and art activities.

In this study, I apply the LMA(Laban Movement Analysis) system to analyze the movement of Taekyun. In this context, I think that if I can analyze the movement of Taekyun which is representative of Korean martial arts by the LMA, It will be a new opportunity to shed light on traditional martial arts from an artistic point of view. I especially focuse on the dancing elements of Taekyun. It is thought that the action of the Taekyun movement ​​resembles curve, because it avoids the fatal blow on the opponents. Taekyun is embodied a unified gesture through the tempo of strength and weakness, with softness in its movement. I explore the physical aspects(Body), qualitative aspect(Effort), shape of movements aspect(Shape), and spatial aspect(Space) of LMA in order to illuminate the aesthetic elements of Taekyun. As a result of the analysis, the dancing elements of Taekyun are found as follows. First, in the body part, I find a common feature that is connected naturally by Breath Support and Core Support. Respiration strengthens the meaning of each action in the three movements(pumbalbgi, hwalgaesji, neunjileugi). Second, in terms of quality(Effort), I find the properties of Strong Weight and Quick Time. A common feature of the Effort is the rhythm state. It can explains the reason why Taekyun is similar to dancing movement. Third, the spatial aspect can be seen as a Directional Shape, but it can not be completed unless Shape Flow is emphasized. Fourth, in the aspect of the Shape, it can be seen that there is a Central Tension when you raise his leg to defend himself or when he turn his arm to defend from his opponent's attack. I hope that this study help the LMA to be applied to the various fields in order to the value of movements.

This study probes how the notions of choreography has formed and changed in relation to dance notation. Two manuscripts, not by accident identically titled, are examined— Chorégraphie by Raoul-Auger Feuillet and Choreographie by Rudolf von Lavan—with regard to their respective understandings of the principles of dance and their socio-political contexts. This study brings Feuillet and Laban into a historical perspective beyond the previous literatures that solely focused on either of them. In Feuillet, choreography was defined as the composition of dance by means of notation. The space for dance was identified as flat and rectangular one, which led to the principles of ballet with the emphasis on geometrical shapes, establishing the two-dimensional plasticity as the aesthetic norm of the time. The act of composing dance by notating movement accompanied the emergence of the choreographer-subject which objectifies bodies of dancers, and thus the invention and development of dance notation was supported by the absolute monarchy out of its interest in the absolutistic body available to be controlled and disciplined. Laban developed the concept of choreography as the notation of forms and qualities of movement in space harmony. Laban theorized scales and rings in crystal space as new principles of movement, founding three-dimensional plasticity with its unceasing mobility as the aesthetic norm of modern dance. Complying with modernist ideal of progress and efficiency, Laban also applied his principles to choreograph movements of industrial bodies. Addressing manuscripts of Feuillet and Laban, and their contribution to the historical formation of the notions of choreography, this study unfolds the concepts of choreography in multilateral contexts, complementing and surpassing the prevalent, literal understanding of its meaning as dance-writing, which will provide the cornerstone for elucidating the historicity of choreography leading up to the present.

The purpose of this study is to conduct a spatial analysis of movement in Taepyeongmu using Rudolf von Laban's theory of Space Harmony. Laban emphasizes that 'space' can grasp the nature of movement and that while Eastern and Western perspectives may differ, it can be dealt with in terms of the universality of dance. In this study, I analyse Teobeolim(터벌림, widening ground) and Olimchae(올림채, uplift). The results of the spatiality of Taepyeongmu are as follows. The major Crystalline forms are analyzed as icosahedrons in Teobeolim and as cubes in Olimchae. The results of the Effort analysis shows that Taepyeongmu displayed the Bound Flow of the lower body, while the spraying of the Hansam caused Light Weight in Teobeolim and Free Flow of the upper body is utilized elastically in Olimchae. The use of the effort is found not to be simple and uniform, but to occur in a variety of complex movements. Research of Taepyeongmu’s spatiality is not limited only in the form of perfect skill and performance that focus on the transfer of skills, but it can also provide a theoretical basis for an analysis of Korean dance, allowing more various interpretations and an application of more efficient and clear movements.
