This study investigates the necessity of training methods in performing traditional Korean dances and suggests a possibility of using them. To this end, Bae Junghye's Korean dance training method was used to describe and analyze traditional dance movements. Bae Junghye’s method can be utilized for the following reasons. First, it helps dancers practice and strengthen movements during their training. Second, it can be appropriately applied depending on the purpose of movement expression. Third, it can be used for basic exercises before performing a dance. Fourth, systematic training of movements is possible through Bae Junghye’s Korean dance method.

A Choreographic Study on Reminiscence
무용작품 「돌아보다」에 관한 연구 : 베르그손 지각론을 바탕으로 +
DOI:https://doi.org/10.26861/sddh.2022.64.41Asian Dance Journal
Vol.64
pp.41-66
This article examines the researcher’s own choreographic work, Reminiscence, which was performed at Ewha Womans University on June 7, 2018. Through this study, we hope to overcome the ephemerality of performing arts and describe dance works in a more analytical manner. By documenting the researcher’s own choreographic work, we can establish an individual’s choreographic philosophy, based on the individual’s understanding of the meaning and value of dance works. This analysis is based on a theory of perception proposed by Henry-Louis Bergson (1859-1941), who held that one could enlighten oneself through memory to lead a better life. Each part of the choreography corresponds to the core elements of Bergson’s theory, which allows us to establish a philosophy of choreography, as well as for the choreographer to speculate on the possibility of developing subsequent choreographies.

Vol.60
pp.121-141
This study aims to record Bae Myeong-gyun's introductory course of basic dance in chronological order in which the researcher studied the lower body, foot, upper body, and tone breathing method. Bae Myeong-gyun did not promote the dance himself on the stage. It can be seen that the method of stepping on the lower limb, the upper limb, and the tone breathing method are logically clear. This can be referred to as the principle of wood, the principle of plants, that is, the dance teaching method huses with the principle of nature.
This teaching method will provide a way that students and the general public who are initiating to learn dance approach to a dance principle and will become the model of all dance.
